Alex Alsemgeest
Rijksmuseum Curator of Library Collections
Amsterdam
Curator of Library Collections at the Rijksmuseum. The library collections comprise nearly half a million books on the subjects of art, applied arts and history. The aim of the department is to support innovative research and maximize the links between people and collections. I am a book historian by training (Leiden University), interested in the history of libraries and collections, material history, books as objects of cultural exchange, the art of the book and the book as art, and digital initiatives that represent and complement the physical book.
